Ministers Play FREE at Christian City's I Golf "Fore" Kids Tournament

The Children’s Village will be hosting our Annual Fall Golf Classic on September 30th at Eagle's Landing, in Stockbridge GA to benefit the boys and girls who live in the cottages at Christian City. Ministers play FREE with three paying golfers. This is a wonderful opportunity to help kids and spend some quality time with your church members.

The tournament includes two special opportunities to win—a corporate challenge and a church challenge where the winner receives a $500 prize to put toward the ministry of their choice, traveling trophy, and free entry next year to defend their title! The winner of the corporate challenge receives a special trophy.

Last year’s winner, First Christian Church of Mableton, is invited back to defend their title and play for free! The entry fee is $125 per person or $450 for a four person team. Registration starts at 9:30am and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, lunch, refreshments, and a post tournament dinner.

Eagle Scout Neil Dhruv Organizes Project to Help Kids

Neil Dhruv, a sophomore at Woodward Academy, has been working towards being an Eagle Scout for years. He recently achieved the highest ranking honor in Boy Scouts when he completed his Eagle Scout project benefiting The Children’s Village at Christian City. Each Eagle Scout was to create and design a project that benefits the community. Neil chose to handcraft wood picnic tables for less fortunate children to enjoy.

Three years ago, Neil went to India and saw a number of children living in an orphanage, and ever since has been thinking of how to help children in need. When the time came for Neil to choose his Eagle Scout project, it seemed like a perfect fit to help The Children’s Village because it was nearby his Peachtree City home. Neil raised the funds and built four picnic tables with the help of his friends and fellow scouts. The kids and house parents will now be able to have a place they can sit to enjoy eating and visiting outdoors. Bob Crutchfield, President and CEO of Christian City expressed, "We are grateful for the hard work and dedication Neil put forth for his Eagle Scout project. What a great example he is to other young people! When you see kids helping kids it is very moving. Neil is an impressive young man and we are privileged to know him and call him a friend."

Volunteers Plan the 4th Annual Chair-ity Event for The Children's Village

It is Christmas in July for the volunteers of the 4th Annual Chair-ity Event benefiting The Children’s Village at Christian City. The volunteers have already started meeting to plan this wonderful holiday event hosted by community leaders. The event takes place on December 2nd from 5:30-7:30pm at The Dolce-Atlanta in Peachtree City. Local artists will be painting children’s chairs, and there will be a “Santa’s Workshop” Silent Auction where guests can pick up a gift for that special someone.

The volunteer committee is very excited for the upcoming event as there will be delicious food, festive music, and great networking opportunities. Last year’s event was huge success. With the help of 50 sponsors, volunteers, and local artists, over $36,000 was raised for the abandoned and abused children who live in the cottages at Christian City. The Children's Village in Need of Child Sponsors

The Children’s Village at Christian City is a residential, family centered program which cares for abandoned, abused, and neglected children who have no other safe place to go. The children live in cottages with full time house parents on the Christian City campus located in Union City. Most of the children come to The Children’s Village with nothing but the clothing on their backs, meaning the bulk of financial support for providing the basics comes from caring individuals in the community, churches, businesses and civic groups. Christian City provides food, clothing, medical and dental assistance, education in private and special needs schools, to all the children who arrive on their door step regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. The most practical and convenient way to help is through the Child Sponsorship Program, a monthly financial sponsorship. For as little as a dollar a day, $30 a month, you can become a sponsor and make a huge impact in a child’s life.
